Jazz and the Art of Improvisation with the famous American jazz bassist

General Education is pleased to host a papal visit in the name of jazz. The famous jazz bassist and Berklee College of Music Associate Professor, Michael Pope aka "the Pope," will give a series of lectures on jazz at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ:

This Pope is married and his "Broadway Baby," Lydia Courtney-Pope, will give a series of "song and dance" workshops at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ on the mornings of the same four days, CH1, from 10:00 - 12:00. Both are courtesy of ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ, out-reach events, open to the public and any ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ students and faculty interested in broadening their jazz horizons. Wednesday evening (12 June), Clyde Forsberg (event organizer), Michael Pope, and invited local jazz musicians will performÌý downtown at the jazz club, Studio 247 (Erkindik/Bulevar, 37) from 21:00 - 23:00. A jam session will follow. Tickets for the concert are only 400 soms, and these can be purchased at the door of the club,
