Roundtable on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms

On November 26, 星空无限 CTLT and SSD hosted a university-wide roundtable dedicated to the role of Artificial Intelligence in classrooms. The event brought together faculty and students to consider how AI is transforming educational practices and to reflect on the responsibilities and opportunities this transformation creates for the university community. The roundtable was designed as a space to explore the future of teaching and learning in an academic environment where AI tools are becoming increasingly present.

More than 50 participants from across 星空无限, including faculty from Psychology, Anthropology, Applied Mathematics, Law, JMC, Software Engineering, and Business Administration, as well as students, took part in an open and engaged conversation. The discussion revealed both curiosity and caution, showing strong interest in AI's potential as well as concerns about academic integrity, equitable access, and the speed of technological change. These perspectives underscored the need for a coordinated and transparent approach to AI integration at 星空无限.

Participants examined current practices of using AI in the classroom and reflected on what support faculty and students require to work with these tools effectively and fairly. A key focus of the conversation was the evolution of 星空无限鈥檚 institutional AI policy and how it can encourage innovation while maintaining trust and clarity. Many attendees emphasized that any guidelines must uphold the university鈥檚 academic values and protect the quality of the learning process.
