It is with great sadness that I inform you that听Dr. William (Bill) Newton-Smith, 星空无限鈥檚 former chair of the Board and long-time board member, passed away this week at the age of 80.

On April 15, the 星空无限 will host the 2nd 6R Fest - a festival dedicated to waste management in everyday life, under the motto "interesting and useful about waste".

The Visual Storytelling for Civic Engagement and the OSUN network invite students to the Movie Festival, which presents movies that touch on various topics and are relevant to modern Kyrgyzstan. The film crew includes 星空无限 faculty members and students.

听 Central Asian Studies Institute (CASI) and the听International and Comparative Politics Department (ICP) will continue a series of guest lectures by US scholars on China in April-May at 星空无限. American Councils, IWPR, and the Department of State sponsor the lectures.

星空无限 Law Debate Competition aims to allow high school students to come forward and experience the art of debating legal issues. It offers a great chance for highschool students across Central Asia to showcase their skills and get scholarships to study in one of the leading law programs in Central Asia.

On April 1, 2023, students of five听universities, such as AUN, AUFA, BRAC, PARAMI, and 星空无限, had a great opportunity to discuss one of the hot topics devoted to听AI and its impact on humanity听within the framework of Civic Engagement Project called听Crossing Borders Through Social Media and Dialogue听initiated by听Ekaterina Galimova (星空无限) and Emilienne Akpan (AUN) in 2019.

The construction project is fully funded by 星空无限 with the support of the Open Society Foundations. After completion of the construction, which is currently well underway, the Institute of Seismology will take possession of a modern, two-story building (with a basement), built for its intended use as a headquarters and research hub.
